We've already discussed, and we're adding four new characters. Information about said characters can be found here

Jenna Sommers is twenty-five years old. Everyone thinks she’s a realtor but she’s really a human and she celebrates her birthday on March 10th. People say she looks like Sara Canning and her character is currently available for auditions.

No one would ever guess that it was once Jenna who’d stay out late every night, doing as she pleased. She’s now known as the caring and responsible aunt to Jeremy, Katherine and Elena Gilbert, but her youth painted a very different picture. Born in the iconic decade of the 1980s, Jenna is the younger sister to Miranda Sommers; who later married into the name of Gilbert. Miranda was always seen as more of the older, sensible sibling in comparison to Jenna. Both attended Beacon Falls high school, and while her older sister was at the top of the social ladder, Jenna was elsewhere, happily doing her own thing. She was best friends with Mason Lockwood and the two would get into all sorts of mischief together. Stealing alcohol from Mason’s father was the easiest thing on their to-do list, and something they would do frequently. There weren’t many places they could enjoy it, though a few of their hiding spots included the cemetery and underneath the bleachers on the football field. Jenna was always getting herself into sticky situations she had a hard time coming out of, including the use of drugs, which she once became a frequent user of. Her sister, on the other hand, was ‘Miss Beacon Falls’ and the apple of their parents’ eye. It wasn’t something Jenna resented her for, however. In fact, Miranda was always there for her younger sibling, often helping her so she wouldn’t get in trouble with their parents. It’s one of the things that made them close as sisters.
Over the years, Jenna’s grown up, but not completely. She’s still very much the clumsy, loveable yet scatter-brained girl she’s always been. College came and went, but she’s always remained close to home. When it’s come to the topic of love, or what’s supposed to be love, the redhead hasn’t had the best of luck in the past. She had a brief relationship with John Gilbert, who was the younger brother of her sister’s husband, Grayson. However, it was purely sexual and didn’t end on the best terms, leaving Jenna with a burning hatred for the man. She also dated the eldest Fell, Theodore — known as Teddy — who she’d always had a crush on in high school. After they’d been going out for a while, Jenna fell completely in love with him. The couple were happy, as was their relationship, but the way it ended was as though Jenna was destined for a string of bad breakups. Teddy cheated on her and as a result, she ended things with him and hasn’t spoken to him since. It’s been a while since Jenna has actually been back to Beacon Falls for a prolonged visit. Upon the recent bad news about the passing of Miranda and Grayson Gilbert, Jenna found herself returning to take care of their children. She’s never been the responsible type, but it’s something she wanted to do. She can’t just leave Elena, Katherine and Jeremy hanging, and she knows it’s something her sister would have appreciated. As their legal guardian, she knows becoming an authority figure will take some adjusting, but she’s more than willing to do whatever it takes.

Elena Gilbert, Katherine Gilbert and Jeremy Gilbert → Jenna’s having to keep it together to take care of her sister’s children. Despite the overwhelming feelings she’s had inside of her all summer over their deaths, her number one priority is Elena, Katherine and Jeremy. Sometimes, she worries being the parental figure in their lives is something she’ll fail at. Making sure they do their chores and keep on top of their homework is what Jenna used to be told, so suddenly being the one in charge is slightly daunting. With Katherine’s attitude problem and the phase Jeremy’s going through, things aren’t getting any easier. Luckily, Elena’s around to help out, and the good twin insists Jenna’s doing a good job. So why can’t she just believe it herself?

Alaric Saltzman → With Jeremy’s bad behaviour at school, she’s been hearing a lot from his history teacher, Alaric Saltzman. The man seems genuinely concerned with Jeremy’s wellbeing, which is refreshing to find in the education system. But it’s more than that. Alaric is sweet and rather interesting to talk to, already sparking an intrigue in Jenna, despite swearing off men after her last two relationship disasters. She’s really just going to get to know him and see where it goes.

Theodore Fell → Returning to Mystic Falls is hard enough without having to run into a relationship Jenna would rather forget. Knowing Teddy’s made it far as a news reporter pushes few of her buttons, especially when she has to see his face every morning on one of the local news stations. Sooner or later, it’s only inevitable that she’ll bump into him. It’s when she does that has Jenna worried. Falling back into old routines is something she desperately doesn’t want to do, especially after everything she went through before. The only problem is the older Fell has charm like no other.

Derek Hale → Jenna was in the year above Derek in high school and due their differences in cliques, he was someone she never really took much notice of. That was until word of the Hale fire got out. One day, those kids had their entire family, the next day, they had nothing. It’s something Jenna never really understood until now, after losing her own sister. No one ever heard from Derek again after he left town, leaving behind a mystery never truly solved. Seeing him around town again brings back Jenna’s curiosity. He seems completely different from the few memories she has of him, but he probably doesn’t remember her that much either.
